Optionally split recordings a predetermined lengths (e.g., 10 min.), but only at silent spots

If I am recording very long audio, such as a Webinar or a radio program, the file can become quite large and unmanageable. It would be great if NowSmart could split the file into predefined time increments as it goes along, but always watching for silent periods to do the splitting. So, for instance, if I set it for 10-minute mp3's but there isn't good silence until 10:05, it would wait to split at 10:05.

Click Options->VAS and Options->FLL, change settings to fit your need.

In order to let VAS work properly, you need to do some test recording, adjust "Silence Detection Threshold" to an appropriate value.

I think I see what you mean, though I haven't tried yet. So, if I set "file limitation" time to 600 seconds (10 minutes) and check the box saying "record a new file when the time limit is reached," then if I record a 1-hour long webinar it will create a new "track" every 10 minutes? That is awesome, and exactly what I wanted.

Question - How does it name my recordings? For instance, if I start my 1-hour recording with the file name "webinar.mp3," what will ARW choose for the second, third, etc. files if I have it create a new file every 10 minutes?
